On March 1, 2007 Mrs. Barbara Wiegand a teacher at Eureka Middle School from 1989 - 2007 passed away.  In memory of her, the Eureka Middle School students held a read-a-thon on March 30, 2007 where they raised over $3,500.00 for the American Cancer Society.  A memorial in the amount of $4,100.00 was donated by the Wiegand Family for the school library in her memory.  Mrs. Wiegand left a lasting impression on many of our students lives during her time with us, and she will be greatly missed.
